Smooth Ride!

I chose the Indie because of all the extras that come standard: rain cover, car seat adapter, cup holder, air pump. It is a little more expensive but well worth it when you consider that it comes with everything you need.
The ride is super smooth and the adjustable handle makes it comfortable for me or my husband.
We have a Safety 1st 35 car seat and although not listed as compatible, it fits right in and straps down easily.
It was either this or the
BOB Revolution and I am sure we made the best choice!

I love my Bumbleride Indie! It truly seems as though I find a new reason to love it every time I use it. Today I am loving the large cargo basket. It is so easy to access and it big enough to hold the groceries I bought this morning. We live in an urban neighborhood and often walk to the grocery store, library, etc. The cargo basket makes these trips so much easier! I also love the pocket on the back of the canopy - perfect for my keys and cell phone. I would be hard-pressed to name my favorite feature but I am in love with how unbelievably easy my Indie is to push. I can steer it one-handed with out any struggle. And it is fun to push too! I am also grateful for the simple, two-step fold that collapses the Indie down to a manageable size. I can easily lift it in and out of my car. Love it. Thank you, Bumbleride!

Our Bumbleride :)

This is the only stroller that we have ever used and my son is 22 months now; we love it! The stroller was actually one of my fears about becoming a parent - you know, big, bulky, struggling to get the wheels to turn just right, frustration, etc. So between my fear and my husband's, with extensive research we decided on the Bumbleride together.
Here's what I love about it - it's EASY to push and steer, I often push it one handed while sipping a water, etc. We get a lot of snow here and have literally pushed it through a park right after a winter storm - it glided beautifully through a LOT of snow. We thought this was so awesome that I took a photo of my husband pushing it through the said snow with one hand. I have often jogged with it on city jogging paths. We have been in 2 fund-raising marathons with it, and the list goes on. It is an excellent city stroller (and most likely country stroller too). I am very attached to our Bumbleride. I've never even gotten sick of the color we chose (that nice, mossy green). It is the perfect stroller for our family and our needs.
Here's what is not perfect about it (these things don't bother me so much, but may be important to other people): The cup holder (as I'm sure has been mentioned a lot) kind of stinks, figuratively speaking. It's rather flimsy and any drink that was not completely closed would splash. I drink mostly water anyway, so it's not a big deal to me. If you are an avid, say Starbucks (or comparable venue) drinker, this could be a problem. Secondly, there's not a ton of storage. I don't know how much storage other strollers have, so it may actually be comparable. Lastly, the folding wasn't the easiest. For somebody who will constantly need to collapse the stroller, this may be an issue.
Even with these issues above, I cannot bear to submit a 4 star review. The stroller has served us perfectly, has been & continues to be everything we wanted. The money has been well invested as we will never need to buy another!

disappointment

This stroller has been nothing but a disappointment since we got it. Within 1 month of getting it the frame bent when we took it down the stairs to our house, thank god our son was not in it. After 2 weeks were sent a replacement, that is 2 weeks with a newborn and NO stroller. The sun canopy will NOT stay up, which is a problem as we live in a sunny area.
Now a bolt fell off the stroller when we were closing it to put in the car and one side will not lock when we open it. This makes it a very unstable stroller that we no longer feel comfortable using on long treks. What a waste of money.

Thank you so much for your review. I?m SO sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your Bumbleride Indie stroller. We try to provide as much information we can on our website and through our customer service staff to ensure customers like you end up with a product that is perfect for your needs.
The manufacturers warranty for this stroller is one year. They may be willing to replace the entire stroller due to the number of issues you have experienced.

1 year review

Our daughter is 14 months now and we have put the Indie to the test over the past year. We were torn between the BOB Revolution and the Indie, but the weight and wheel base of the Indie won out. The canopy cover is good, the handling is excellent and the ease of operation is excellent. The stroller is still very responsive after a year of heavy use. The frame is still rigid, the wheels and hubs are swiveling and locking well and the material is a bit dirty but held up to the rigors of our active girl. We have taken it on the beaches of NC, the mountains in VA and the bumpy sidewalks of the city, each trip without problem or limitations. The cargo basket is ample storage and the cup holder works great and holds up well. The folding action of the stroller is still functioning well, the only issue we have had (not a big deal) is the back adjustment ratchet sticks sometimes. I believe they have addressed this in the later 2009 model. We opted for the foot boot for the winter months which kept out little girl warm on those cold days. All in all I give this stroller an A and recommend it to anyone who is looking for an all around versatile stroller that looks great and functions even better. My brother and his wife purchased the Indie after our reccomendation and love it too!

Money well spent

I'm pleased with both the customer service from this site and with the quality of the stroller. It arrived 2 days after I ordered it even though I went with the free shipping, which should have taken at least 3 days according to the shipping chart on the site. The stroller came in a surprisingly small box and was so simple to assemble in about 15 minutes. The fabrics are beautiful and sturdy. The tires are beefy and the stroller itself is very well made. The canopy is much fuller than I expected it to be - I had been considering the Baby Jogger City Elite for its large canopy but the Bumbleride Indie canopy is plenty large enough to protect my baby from the sun. The storage basket is roomy, the handlebars adjust nicely, and it is easy to fold up to store or unfold to use. I read other reviews that said this took some practice and that the location of the cupholder interferes with folding it yet I felt it was very simple to fold and the cupholder location doesn't interfere. I was concerned about size and weight of the stroller because I have a small car and a bad back so I needed something fairly small and lightweight...this stroller is the perfect size for my needs. As far as my baby is concerned, she seems to like the stroller...she falls right to sleep in it. Her carseat (Chicco keyfit 30) fits nice and secure. I will rarely use the car seat adapter so I didn't want to spend money on this as an accessory (it was an additional fee with the other strollers I was considering) so I was happy it was included with the Indie. I'm debating getting the carrycot as well since my baby is small (too small for the harness at it's tighest setting) but the carrycot doesn't have a harness at all. Until she's big enough to fit properly I just use it on flat even streets close to home and no off road or anything until she fits the harnesses more securely. I was undecided between this stroller, the Bob Revolution and the Baby Jogger City Elite. I decided not to get the Bob because the backrest is not quite as firm and a small preemie like ours wouldn't have the support she needs. Also, the Bob wasn't going to fit into my car as easily as the wheel base is wider. I liked many of the features on the Baby Jogger...the easy fold, but again, that was wider and heavier than the Indie. I also liked the magnetic closure rather than velcro for the canopy viewing window and I loved the size of the canopy. But almost the same price, the Indie came with some accessories that would have cost extra if I got the BJ City Elite and this was about as much as I was willing to spend on a stroller. It really is an amazingly well made stroller and I couldn't imagine why I'd need a pricier model than this. I am thrilled with this purchase.

Great Purchase!

After doing an obscene amount of research on strollers, I finally decided on the Bumbleride and couldn't be happier with my choice. The storage is great. I was able to fit a couple of bags of groceries plus a six pack of beer (which made my husband happy) in the basket plus the little zipper pocket is great for keys, wallet, etc. The stroller has a wonderfully smooth ride over the rough sidewalks in my neighborhood. It was fairly easy to put together (i had read the opposite in some other reviews but my husband gave it an easy rating). It is easy to fold. The cup holder that comes with it works great. And it just looks so darn cute. The only negative i have so far is that i wish the canapy would go down just a bit further. Other than that, it is perfect!

An excellent choice

I'm very pleased with my Bumbleride Indie. I did a lot of research before purchasing it; I wanted a stroller that would be good for the bluestone sidewalks in our town (which are very bumpy), but I knew I didn't need a serious all-terrain stroller for hiking; I'm also petite and wanted something on the smaller side and manageable. The Bumbleride Indie is perfect for us! My son (9 months) thinks it's a sweet, sweet ride -- very comfortable -- and I'm delighted with how sturdy, easy to use, and maneuverable it is. The adjustable backrest and footrest are great, and the canopy provides great sun coverage; I also really appreciate the big cargo space underneath and the adjustable handlebar. Some reviews I've read indicate that assembly and folding are difficult; but I'm not particularly mechanically inclined and I got the whole thing together (and folded) in fifteen minutes; it was no big deal. The Indie isn't as smooth a ride as, say, a Bugaboo, but my opinion is that it's sort of like buying a 5-speed Saab instead of a Cadillac with an automatic transmission: there are benefits to being able to feel the road! We got the Bwana, and I have to say, it is stinkin' cute! (The faces fabric on the interior is cuter than it looks on the internet, and the navy blue exterior with orange stripe is SHARP!) My ONLY complaint is that the drink holder only attaches on the right side, which seems a little silly to me, as it could just as easily be ambidextrous. (And I think it's likely that a large number of lefties will want to purchase this stroller for its high design qualities.) But other than that, I think it's fabu.

Overall I really like the Bumbleride Indie stroller. I took my time and reviewed many strollers before chosing the Indie. I chose the Indie because of the large sun shade, reclining seat, and large air-filled tires. The best thing about this stroller is it rolls over any terrain smoothly. I can take it on grass and stear it with one hand with no effort. I can do the same on pathways made of loose rocks. I haven't tried sand yet. I love how roomy the stroller is and my 4 month old daughter is comfortable and content in it. I also like how the foot rest is adjustable. I am disappointed with the sun shade, I find the sun gets in my daughter's face and bothers her at certain angles(but I think this would happen with any brand of stroller). I also wish the seat would recline fully, this would be benificial for naps. The stroller is also very bulky when it is folded and it takes a few times before getting the hang of folding it up. I also wish the storage basket was larger, I cannot put my mid-sized diaper bag in it but my purse fits fine. I have to hang my diaper bag on the handle, which works out fine for me. This stroller is not perfect; however, compared to the other strollers on the market I think I made a good choice for the money. This stroller has a lot of good qualities to it and when I use it people always inquire about it.
