Our Review of the Italtrike Taxi Tricycle ABC

The Italtrike Taxi Tricycle frame is a durable high grade steel and the seat, fender, joints, pedals and bucket are a durable plastic. All three wheels are made from injection molded plastic.

Features that come included:

  • Front free wheel
  • Removable pushbar with molded grip
  • Rear handbrake
  • Adjustable seat for different height ranges
  • Rear bucket with plenty of space
  • Designed and manufactured in Italy

Some minor assembly is required, but it won't take longer than 10 minutes.

For a comparable tricycle or a tricycle with similar features, there are several options. First, if you want more features, the Kettler Happy Navigator has a more parent-friendly pushbar and maneuverable rear wheels. If it's a similar tricycle with a lower price tag you're looking for, the Italtrike Tricycle ABC is basically the same tricycle as the Taxi Tricycle but doesn't have the pushbar or handbrake.

A solid little trike

I bought this trike for my son when he was only 18 months old. He was too little to pedal, so I got the version with a push bar. I have to tell you that if you are looking for that feature, skip this trike. The push bar is a joke when it comes to long hauls. It is too short for anybody taller then 5'. The bike itself is solidly made, the seat is adjustable and the mechanics of switching from cruise to pedal mode are easily adjusted on the front wheel. My son is now 2.5 years and is enjoying the trike in our back yard. The push bar and the price are the only reasons I am rating it only 3 stars.
