Our Review of the Deuter Kid Aircomfort baby backpack

Deuter designed the Kid Aircomfort to get parents and their children outside together. The Kid Aircomfort will safely hold children up to 45 lbs. Meanwhile, the aluminum alloy frame and light materials bring the total weight of this baby backpack carrier to only 4 lbs. 4 oz. by itself. Deuter has also added their exclusive Aircomfort back system for parents. After a long day out and about, your back will thank you.

The five-point safety harness will keep your child secure. The adjustable child harness can adjust to the size of your kid. There's even a bottom storage compartment for anything else you need on your adventure, whether it's just lunch at the park or a bottle of water on a long hike.

The sun roof attachment point makes adding the sun roof/rain cover literally a snap.

It saved me

This backpack is great. We use it when we're doing yard work, shopping, or just taking walks. After some time the straps wear a little bit on the shoulders, but it's a great tool to keep your hands free from a crawling toddler

Great backpack

This is a lifesaver with me - my son is 10 months old and 32" long and 24lbs. It was very difficult to carry him everywhere - and I put him in the backpack and he LOVES it. He'll giggle and play with my hair. He sees the view from how I see things. His head isn't higher then mine, so I don't have to worry too much about him hitting his. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the shoulder straps dig in after a while, which is a bit uncomfortable after a long time. But if using it just to run around with for an hour or so, it's A+++++

So I just got it in the mail today and it is really light and airy and feels great with my son in it but I havent taken it around for more than 5 minutes...I am going to test it this week and then come back and make another review later. My only complaint is that I feel like the straps are too tight up next to my neck and it is probably going to be uncomfortable tomorrow at the airport if I dont figure out how to get the straps adjusted correctly for myself. I have been following the instructions it gave me but it doesnt seem to be working out for me...Although I did get my son adjusted very well in the carrier and its very easy. I cant wait to test it on the trails of oregon this week! YAY! by the way I am 5'2" and my son is 11 months old, 20 lbs...if that helps anyone. I wouldnt recommend putting a child smaller than this in there though because I have the straps pretty much tightened all the way for him. Hope this was helpful!

Good all around backpack

Reviewer: Dave Traffie , NH Date: March 06, 2007
I spent a lot of time trying to find a backpack carrier that would work for around the house as well as some short hikes. I also needed something to carry my one year old around at a trade show. I purchased the Deuter Kid Aircomfort after trying the Serpani Rumba Superlite and looking at the Kelty Journey. My wife did not like either of them although the Sherpani looked like it would work well for longer hikes. The Deuter woked very well for the 2-1/2 days that I spent walking around a trade show. It was very light weight, easy to take on and off and seemed very comfortable for my one year old daughter. She did not seem to mind getting in it after the third day. I feel that the Deuter works very well for what I was looking for. I would also like to thank ChildCarriers.com for helping me to find the right product.

Convenience

We purchased this last year to bring with on a trip to Minneapolis. MY son rode it all day for two days and did not mind a bit. He felt very included in what was going on and could always see. He hates using a stroller and always wants to be carried so this was a great compromise.

Good buy so far

Bought mine in November for my now 15 month old. Great buy! Light, compact and our little one seems comfortable on our walks. Only set back is I really can't go on long walks in case she falls asleep. Her head droops to a side. I bought the neck brace accessory which I have yet figured out how to use but I doubt it will actually work. Other must have accesories are rain shield and sun shield. Great additions!

We love the aircomfort carrier

Reviewer: Ione Unruh , Lawrence, KS Date: July 15, 2006
Here in Kansas where the humidity reaches 93% at times, the aircomfort carrier we purchased for our grandson is great. My son-in-law says he can't believe that is so comfortable to wear and Thomas definitely loves riding behind dad and above the crowd.
