Our Review of the Combi Flare stroller

The Combi Flare stroller is a light and affordable urban stroller with enough amenities to keep any on-the-go parent content. Simple and convenient, the Combi Flare weighs just 11.5 lbs and utilizes a tight tri-fold for easy storage or transportation. When you're ready to get strolling again, the folded Flare opens in a flash with just one hand.

BENEFITS FOR MOM & DAD

Kids up to 55 lbs. stroll comfortably in the car seat compatible Combi Flare. Coming in new styles and with a taller handle than its predecessor the Combi Cosmo ST, the Flare is a sure-fire way to get you and your baby from here to there without breaking your bank account.

CONVENIENCE

Rolling smoothly over even surfaces and folding up tight are the Flare's claim to fame. While not the most deluxe or feature rich stroller from Combi, the light weight, tight tri-fold and shoulder carrying strap allow you and your Flare to get in, out, and around  in a hurry. The underside storage basket and removable cup holder are two convenient additions that most parents consider to be necessities.

PUSHABILITY

The Combi Flare's front swivel wheels make tight turns easy, and come equipped with a front wheel suspension system that smoothes out the ride over rough sidewalks. Based on market research, the Flare has been upgraded with a higher handle height than the Combi ST stroller, making it easier to push for parents of any height.

COMPATIBILITY

For a color coordinated Combi travel system consider the Combi Flare stroller coupled with the new Combi Shuttle infant car seat - which comes in the same style options as the Flare.

BENEFITS FOR JACK OR JILL

There's plenty for a child to be happy about while riding in the Combi Flare. It's padded seat and front wheel suspension system make any ride go smoothly, and the retractable sun canopy prevents the sun from becoming a bother. The seat of the Combi Flare goes back into a deep recline when your child is ready to relax or nod off. In addition, the front bumper bar is great for hanging toys and other distractions.

SAFETY

Equipped with a simple 3-Point Harness and parking brake, the Combi Flare stroller provides a secure ride for children up to 55 lbs.

COMPARISON

If you like the style and functions of the Flare, but want to explore your options, two other strollers worth taking a look at would be the Cosmo DX and the Helio. These two offer larger wheels, more features, and are also compatible with the Combi Shuttle car seat.

Combi Flare Review

2
Reviewer: Erin Neilson , New Brunswick, Canada Date: August 25, 2008
I recently purchased the Combi Flare Stroller for my 16 month daughter. I loved the look of the stroller in the store, and just had to have it. It had a basket, a cup holder, what else could you ask for...right? Well, 1 month later, my husband hates it! and I am not as fond of it as I once was. It is very fashionable, and I have had a lot of comments about it. Yes, I know, this isn't a luxury stroller, which I guess is what I should have, but little things like pushing is not so easy. The stroller is wobbly, fetches up on the littlest of bumps on the street. The storage underneath is tiny....I put my daughter's sandals in it, and they drag on the ground! Come on! Anything in it drags. If you want to take absolutely NOTHING with you, then this is the stroller for you. If I could get my money back, I would in a heartbeat, and buy something better!

I have just purchased this for a quick trip to the city with my 4 yr old and plan to use it for the 2 yr old. It is a bit short fot the 4 yr old, but she seems to love it. I read other reviews that said folding was awkward, but I found it was the unfolding a bit awkward. The instruction booklet does not say how to unfold, so figuring it out on my own, I found it very convenient once I got the hang of it. The long handles are a MUST-my crummy old umbrella was just that-crummy. I got sick of hunching over, in fact most places we go, the 4 yr old pushed the 2 yr old because it was just not comfy for me. The Flare is easy to push, long handles are great and cupholder is a nice feature for a light-weight get around type stroller. (don't get me wrong, nothing will EVER beat my jogger!) Some reviews I read were not happy with the small basket, no cup holder for mom-but let's remember folks, this is a convenience stroller, not luxury.
