Our Review of the Boon Flair Elite high chair
Seamless, safe, and aesthetically outstanding, the Boon Flair Elite High Chair with pneumatic lift presents a breakthrough in high chair design. HighChairs.com gives the Boon Flair Standard and Flair Elite high chairs a hearty recommendation. This high chair has a sweeping modern design, all the functions of a respectable high chair, and a couple of nice flourishes that set it apart from the pack. Some of the Flair's features, such as the harness, washable seat pad, and removable second feeding tray are absolute necessities; but the unique height adjustment system and wide base with hidden casters really make the Boon Flair Standard and Flair Elite stand out.
What is with the Boon Flair's Pneumatic Lift?
Think barber's chair . . . minus the pump action, hair on the floor, and the weird smells.
The Boon Flair's seat has a chemical resistant, removable pad and rests on a pneumatic lift. You adjust the seat height by pressing, with your foot, on the large orange button on the base, then raising the seat to the desired height and releasing the button. Pressing the button down again and press down on the armrests to slowly lower it. With this option, you can leave the seat at your preferred height and put your child in and out in the 'usual' way, or lower it at the end of feeding time to allow them to climb in and out on their own. When your child has outgrown the need for a high chair, just remove the feeding tray and use the Flair as a standalone child's seat.
What about the Wide Base?
The Boon Flair high chair's base gives it several advantages over other high chairs. For starters, the swooping curves and smooth surface not only looks great, they are extremely simple to clean. (The Base of the Flair Standard is plastic, while the base of the Flair Elite is stainless steel.) Second, the base disguises six caster wheels. This increases the Flair high chai'rs already significant aesthetic appeal, provides mobility, and keeps your floors scratch free. A simple footbrake locks the chair in place.
Every outer component of the Flair high chair is seamless, making it extremely easy to clean. In terms of high chairs, the closest comparison, in terms of style, to the Boon Flair is the Mozzee. However, the Flair has numerous functional advantages over the decadently priced Mozzee, like a passive restraint (not to mention a massive price advantage). The Boon Flair Elite high chair is a one of a kind, sleekly designed and fully functional high chair that will serve your family today and the day after tomorrow.
