Our Review of the BOB Revolution Duallie 12" AW

Brand New for 2007!

The Revolution Duallie 12" AW (Aluminum Wheels) is the same great BOB Revolution Duallie double stroller ? with one slight difference: All three wheels of the 12" AW are (you guessed it) 12".

The original BOB Revolution stroller has 16" rear wheels. This subtle distinction results in a highly maneuverable double stroller that is extremely easy to manage when folded, but less than ideal as a jogging stroller.

The Revolution 12" AW has the same lightweight and tough welded aluminum frame as other BOB jogging strollers, and the same sturdy fabrics to reinforce it, but the smaller rear wheels make this BOB double stroller better suited for negotiating city sidewalks or a mall than a jog on woodland trails.

The inboard rear wheels of the Revolution Duallie 12" AW keep the width of this double stroller just shy of 31" wide, allowing it to maintain a low profile and fit easily through standard doorways. For a double stroller, the Revolution folds up very compactly with BOB's simple and reliable two-step folding mechanism.

Thanks to the small wheels, the fold of the Revolution Duallie 12" AW is the smallest of any BOB double stroller. Though not ideal for jogging, the Revolution Duallie 12" AW still offers the option to fix the front wheel forward for added control, and fine-tune the tracking adjustment for stable wheel balance.

Both seats of the Revolution Duallie 12" AW are foam lined, thickly padded, and recline to a nearly flat position for sleepy passengers or extra storage space. There is a large underside basket for storing your stuff and integrated pockets and cupholders in the seating area to keep your kids hydrated and/or occupied. Both seats feature 5-point harnesses for rider security, big retractable sun canopies for shade, and the tough fabrics are entirely removable and machine washable.

BOB strollers have a wide range of convenience enhancing accessories. One of the best BOB accessories is the BOB Double Car Seat Adaptor that transforms your Revolution Duallie 12" AW into a car seat compatible travel system stroller.

Bottom Line: The BOB Revolution Duallie 12" AW combines the frame of what many argue is the best fixed-wheel jogging stroller on the market with unique, top-quality swivel wheel mechanics to create one of the most versatile all-purpose double strollers available.

At only 31 lbs., it's one of the lighter double strollers to boot. With a total carrying capacity of 100 lbs. you'll get years of use from this BOB double stroller, provided you don't expect to do any marathon training.

The original BOB Revolution Duallie, with its 16" rear wheels and adjustable tracking, is the best bet for families who want the premium balance between a walking and jogging stroller.

Love, love, love this stroller!

I have a 2.5 yr old and a 9 mo old and was looking for a double jogger for long morning walks in my town. This fit the bill! Both my children are very comfortable in it. The sun shades are large and can cover the kids completely, even when they are in the reclined position. I got caught in a hail storm in this stroller and both my children didn't even wake up with the sun shade covering them. The steering is amazing, I have yet to have another person use the stroller and not mention how easy it is to push! This stroller has allowed me to get out again! I've used it in the mall and had no problem with it, can even push it with one hand and drink a coffee with the other. I took away one star because it is bulky when folded - but what double stroller isn't? I have a van and it still takes up a lot of room. It would probably take up the whole trunk of a smaller car. Also, I wish there was a way to lock the stroller when closed. You can use the wrist strap, but it's not as easy as a latch.

After an extensive reseach, I decided that the Bob Rev Duallie w/ 12" wheels will be perfect for our stroller needs. It is durable, easy to manuver, my tall boys are comfortable, plenty of shade, although I wish that the basket is bigger and easier to get into. I have other double strollers and after pushing my Bob around, I can feel the difference, pushing and turning. I'm not a jogger, but it has been perfect for our walks in the neighborhood, to the park and at outside malls.

Excellent Stroller

After reading many favorable reviews, I purchased the Duallie 12" AW. I have been very impressed with the stroller, with the shocks it makes for a fairly smooth ride, the swivel front wheel allows for tigh turns, especially in the grocery store. The only thing I would change would be to have an adjustable height push bar, I am 6 foot 2 inches tall, and while the push bar is higher than most I tried, it isn't quite high enough for me. That being said this is a great stoller and I recommend it to those that do a lot of walking or jogging.

This stroller is fantastic! It is a bit heavy, but that goes with the territory of having a double stroller. However, having the two smaller wheels in the rear, it takes off some of the weight and awkwardness compared to the other Bob Duallie.

Worth every penny

After spending tons of time researching for the best double stroller, I decided on the Bob Duallie 12" AW and could not be more pleased. Works wonderful for my 2 year old and 6 month old. The shocks and air filled rubber tires make rolling over city terrain a dream. Turns on a dime and is just a pleasure to use. I had a hard time justifying the price when I first ordered it, but now I know that it was worth every penny. Trust me, stop searching for the best double, go with the Bob.

Perfect for our family!

We selected the Duallie 12" because its primary use is exercising with our kids in StrollerFit programming, which includes power walking, some jogging, and other quick-paced cardio work. The front swivel wheel makes it easy to negotiate turns both inside and out (paved trails & sidewalks, gymnasium tile & hardwood courts). If either of us were serious runners or did natural trail running, we would recommend selecting a different BOB Revolution model. The Duallie 12" is comfortable for our kids, and we really like the optional attachment for the infant seat, especially since it provides a snack tray for our older child (and includes a second snack tray that can be installed after we no longer need to use the infant seat). Since all wheels are 12" it fits easily into the rears of our mini-van & SUV without putting the rear row of seats down. We also recommend purchasing the parent attachment that holds two water bottles & miscellaneous items like keys or a cell phone. The only complaint we have is folding the stroller is awkward, but once we practiced a few times it's not so bad.

This was the best purchase I have made for my two daughters, age 2.9 months and 2 months. They sit side by side and although their weights are significantly different, the stroller's shock absorbers even them out perfectly. The only time I can tell that one girl is heavier than the other is when I have to manually lift the stroller onto a curb. The shock absorbers are my favorite part of the stroller, as they make the ride so much smoother. I was pushing a baby trend stroller for the past two years and the difference is like a kia car to a rolls royce. I would definitely reccomend this stroller to a mom who has a toddler and a newborn. Also, I purchased the attachment bar to make it a travel system, but found that I didn't need it, because the five-point harness straps get small enough for a decent-sized two month old, although this is not recommended by the manufacturer.

This stroller is so light to push my twins in. I am not a jogger so I use daily for walking and I could not be happier with this stroller.

My husband's the athlete, I'm not. He loves the stroller, and I do also - it handles extremely well, and we're all comfortable with it (kids/parents alike). We have a newborn and a 1.5 year old. The only problem I have is that I wish there was an easier way to secure the folded position than by having to wrap the strap around the handle and base, but that's nothing compared to the versatility and comfort of using this stroller. (You can use one hand and a light touch to very easily push and steer it; you can see the kids through see-through windows at the top; each kid enjoys an independent recline and sunshade; easy fold (even if not-so-easy lift for new mom.) It all adds up to a great design. It's well worth the price for what use we get from it! Just so you know, we use ours with three attachments that really make it ideal - the car seat adapter which holds the seat for the newborn and gives the older one a drink/snack tray (it converts to a double tray for use when the littlest one's out of the car seat); the double stroller handlebar attachment for drinks/keys/etc. for the adult; and the double stroller diaper bag. These make it a perfect stroller for all possible situations - my husband's training in the park, my shopping, all of us taking a trip to our town pool for hanging out. It does it all for us.
