Our Review of the BOB Double Car Seat Adapter

The BOB Double Car Seat Adapter accessory allows parents to use select infant car seats (see the list below) with any double-seat BOB Stroller. The adapter easily folds with stroller - no need to remove it first. It's easy to put on too.

PLEASE NOTE: Only 1 car seat can be used with BOB Double Strollers at one time. This adapter will NOT enable you to use two infant car seats side by side.

Very few bonafide jogging strollers can accomodate an infant carseat, especially the doubles. Yet another engineering marvel from those at BOB, they do amazing stuff.

The BOB Double Infant Car Seat Adapter works with these infant seats:

  • Britax Companion
  • Graco Snug Ride
  • Graco SafeSeat (Step 1)
  • Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP
  • BOB Double Stroller Car Seat Adapter
    With Car Seat
  • BOB Double Stroller Car Seat Adapter
    Without Car Seat
  • BOB Double Stroller Car Seat Adapter
    Without Car Seat

Carseat Wobble? Call BOB Customer Service 4 Foam

4
Reviewer: Anonymous , Seattle, Wa Date: January 02, 2008
I had the same problem the other reviewer had using this car seat adapter with our 2005 Graco Snugride. I called BOB customer service (which is amazing, I might add -prompt, friendly, and helpful), who informed me that they had recently been alerted to this poor fit and had developed a special foam block that sits under the car seat for a more secure fit. BOB mailed me this foam block free of charge, and it fixed the problem. It also easily stores and folds with the stroller when placed in the basket below. I guess it is understandable how a perfect fit might be challenging to achieve with so many different infant car seats on the market. I still think this is a rock-solid accessory to an even better stroller. If you're having any wobble or sliding in the fit, however, be sure to call customer service.

Bob Dualie ar seat adapter

Reviewer: Anonymous , New York, NY Date: November 02, 2007
This fits the seat but there are a couple of issues: 1. Adds 2 inches of width to stroller> this was show stopper for me as no longer fits through a key door in my place. 2. Does not fit the Graco Snug ride very well........seems to rock to one side or the other so not great. I think given the above considerations it could still be great for some folks....but these two aspects mean it just simply did not work for me.

Not for twins

1
Reviewer: Anonymous , Pleasanton, CA Date: October 11, 2007
The Double Car Seat Adapter is useless for twins. Only one adapter can be used with the Dualie stroller, so if you have twins, you cannot use the stroller with their car seats. This issue is not clear in the product description.

Comments from the Staff

Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize for leaving that detail out of the description. You are absolutely correct. We have changed the product description as a result of your review. Only one car seat can be used with the BOB Double Car Seat Adapter at a time - not two seats side by side. There are certain tandem walking strollers that can accept two car seats at once, but the 'one adaptor, one car seat" rule is true for all double jogging strollers currently on the market.

A Must Have for Newborn's

4
Reviewer: Jessi Woods , Lubbock, TX Date: July 19, 2007
I tried my BOB without the adapter and I just didn't feel like my newborn was secure enough. Plus, I would wake her up during the transition from carseat to stroller, and we all know how precious that sleep time is. So, I purchased the carseat adapter. It was fairly easy to install. I have the Britax Companion carseat, and the back snaps onto the bar similar to a grocery cart and the front is secured with a strap. I am a little concerned about the strap when my baby gets older. It may cramp baby's space a little. By then, she should be able to ride in the stroller. I have already recommended the adapter to several of my friends. It is definitely a must have! Well worth the extra money!

Love this stroller!

This is the best double stroller on the market. It is so easy to turn and push. My toddler is very long and has plenty of leg and head room. This stroller is worth every penny. After trying out other double strollers, there is simply no comparison.

Poor Fit For Graco Snugride

2
Reviewer: Anonymous , Seattle, WA Date: July 09, 2007
We just bought a 2007 BOB Revolution Duallie and the BOB Double Car Seat Adapter. We were careful to buy the right one for the stroller (no need to suggest we bought the wrong one) and installed it carefully according to the instructions. It is clearly installed the way it was intended and looks just like the photos on the box and online. (No need to suggest it is improperly installed). However, our Graco Snugride infant seat fits very poorly in the stroller with this adapter. We have a 2005 model snugride and BOB says the adapter is for models 2003 and later, so it should be exactly what they designed it for. It fits onto the adapter bar, but there is no support for the infant seat on the end closest to the stoller handle and on the side of the infant seat at the middle of the stroller. As a result, the infant seat slips down at a sideways angle into the seat, leaving our child tilted a little far forward and cocked over to the side. When we looked closely at the photo on the box the adapter came in, you can see the the infant seat in the photo is also at a cocked angle, not able to sit squarely on the adapter bar. We didn't notice this until we were comparing carefully to make sure we installed it the way they intended. Obviously, they intended this poor fit. It doesn't seem like the infant seat will fall out--the bar and straps make it secure from falling out. But the position and angle of the seat is very disappointing. We expected much better. That said, we really like the stroller and since it is the only dual stroller of its type with any infant seat carrier (except the one for the Mountain Buggies that also got very bad reviews), we plan to keep it and make do. We will probably try piling a stack of towels or someting in the seat of the stroller to prop up the end and side of the infant seat. Poor design of this adapter. Maybe it works better with other infant seats but since there is no back or side supports I don't see how it would. And if there was a brand of infant seat that fit better, you would think they would have chosen it for the box photos.

Great Feature

Your car seat hooks on in similar fashion to putting it in the front basket of a grocery cart. Then there's a strap to buckle it down approximately where you would run a seatbelt over the top. It comes with 2 snack trays, which must be screwed on and off (not really convenient, but if you're not planning on changing your arrangement very often it's not a big deal). You can fold the stroller just as easily when it's attached - a major plus. Not many doubles offer this feature.
